Ok - it's going to be 60 degrees and sunny today. I thinks that it is warm enough to go fly a kite - wouldn't you say?
Well, maybe at least you can fly a kite in your classroom with this fun "Time" to Fly a Kite make and take game. Let's get started!
I originally saw this idea on pinterest, so I can't take credit for it. But it's too great of an idea not share with you all as we start celebrating spring! Since it works perfectly for this time of year, I decided to make my own!
I didn't take a picture of attaching the string to the kite, but all you need to do is tape the string to the back of the kite clock. Make sure the string is long enough to attach times 1:00-12:00
I suggest using 1 longer paper clip to represent the minute hand and 1 shorter hand to represent the hour hand.
And that's it. Student roll the dice to see what time on the clock they should make. You can make two kites and have students see who can roll and make all 12 times first on their kite clock. They will need to roll 1 or 2 dice so that they can get all of the times. For example, they will have to roll only 1 dice to eventually get 1:00.
Looks like fun right? Make your own "Time" kite and get your students celebrating spring!
